Pink, color of 2023 ?

This year, we're not going to hide, we saw a lot of pink, particularly because of the craze around the Barbie movie. A blonde woman, perfectly shaped and almost always dressed in pink. But unfortunately, something else steals the spotlight from Barbie this October : breast cancer. The month of Pink October was created with the aim of raising awareness and raising funds for cancer research. All’Océan is sensitive to many causes and this is obviously one of them. In this article, we explain to you what the month Pink October is, we also present our small contribution to you and we present to you some products sporting this magnificent color which gives pep to our gray days.

What is Pink October ?

We have heard about it for many years, is it really necessary to explain what Pink October is ? You may have noticed the little pink ribbon on our logo this month? Come on, let's take a little reminder, it never hurts, especially when it concerns well-being and health! Every year, from October 1 to 31, the month of Pink October begins. Accompanied by a pink ribbon as a sign of recognition and support, Pink October is a month to raise awareness of breast cancer screening. Every year, thousands of people mobilize in the fight against breast cancer. On the agenda: raise awareness among as many people as possible about screening, which is very simple to do yourself.

First launched in the United States by the initiative of Madame Lauder (of the well-known Estée Lauder group), the Pink October has been popularized in France since 1994. This event continues to grow each year, becoming more and more popular. Many events are set up during this period : races, mobilizations, clothing or even food products displaying pink are created, etc. The goal is of course to raise as much money as possible for research and to support the league against breast cancer.

Breast cancer mainly affects women but also men, which is why it is important to monitor your chest on a daily basis. Self-palpation is something quite simple to do when you know the right gestures. It's a little thing that can change your life. If you are afraid of doing something wrong, contact a doctor or an association that can help you. In the meantime, take care of yourself, your health and think about your well-being.

les lolos à l'eau

All’Océan and Les lolos à l’eau

This year, All’Océan has decided to contribute to the month of Pink October by sponsoring a Breton event. Entitled “Les Lolos à l’eau”, this cultural event created by three Crozonnaises took place at the end of September. Prepared for several months, this weekend aimed to raise awareness among women and men about breast cancer. Organized by the Surfing club of Crozon Morgat Finistère, this sporting and solidarity event took place over 2 days at the end of September: Friday September 22 and Sunday September 24.

If you missed this major event, here is a preview (to perhaps prepare you for next year). First of all, a movie evening at the Amethyst in Crozon with the Brest Surf Film Festival. Then on Sunday, the festivities took place on the beautiful Goulien beach in Crozon in Finistère. On the program: surfing lessons, a longe-côte session, yoga, the possibility of slipping into the skin of a mermaid, a concert given by the Orphéon brass band from the Kaniri Ar Mor music school in Crozon. There was also a prevention stand to learn self-examination and palpation gestures to monitor each risk on a daily basis! All sprinkled with glitter, photographers and videographers to remember this superb event.

We are happy to have been able to contribute in our own way to this event. We appreciated the approach and wanted to support them by offering them “Les Lolos à l’eau” t-shirts. It must be said that their logo is very nice and we enjoyed putting them on white t-shirts! We thank this great team (as well as the volunteers so nicely called “Nénévoles”) for their approach and the work accomplished (and for thinking of us for this great event against breast cancer!).

If you would like to reserve your weekend for next year to participate in Lolos à l’eau and raise awareness about breast cancer prevention, see you on September 28 and 29, 2024 ! For more information, we invite you to join their great Lolos à l’eau networks : Instagram et Facebook.

Have you found your pink happiness in our women's selection? Don’t forget that it’s a color that we like at All’Océan. You can therefore find pink in our children's range to dress toddlers. We have some ideas for you to show your support. Like the Crouesty women's sailor top, you will find the Crevette children's striped top in organic cotton, available in White/Layette or White/Cassis, which can go very well with fuchsia Corsaire pants. For a 100% pink look, go for the little Dune baby vest in organic cotton or the Igloo fleece children's vest which will complete the outfit. A birth gift for a baby born during the month of Pink October? Why not give him a Calypso sleeping bag ? We have plenty of other products with this pop of color. Visit our children's range.

Remember that, the month of Pink October is dedicated to the league against breast cancer, it is an initiative to raise awareness around the world and receive donations. It is sometimes difficult to do so, giving is not always easy. Wearing pink is a small gesture that may seem trivial, free (if you don't buy clothes specifically for the occasion) and yet it means a lot. Every gesture counts.
